2015 Goals!

I never make New Year resolutions.

I was thinking on making one or two this year and sticking with them, but then I thought why only two?

I've decided to make a list of 20 things I would love to achieve during the new year. Nothing too crazy so that I could never really do any of them. Just things I would feel really great for after accomplishing.

I made a new page up there ^^ called 2015 Goals.

I'm going to keep that page there all year and scratch off the things I complete.

You can check that out if you want!

2014 was actually a pretty sucky year for me. Besides the last few months that is. I promised myself that this year is going to be as stress free as I can possibly make it.

What about you? How has 2014 been?

Tell me your goals or resolutions for the new year!

Lush Review! | Ray of Sunshine gift box

For Christmas Craig's sister and her husband got me the Ray of Sunshine gift box from Lush! I opened everything at once and got a bath this evening. I then of course had to test out each item!
The only thing I've ever really used from Lush before are their bath bombs and shampoo, so I was quite curious about using these 4 products..

Each Peach (And Two's A Pair) Massage Bar
Now let me start off saying I used this bar completely wrong! I honestly thought it was some kind of soap so I took it in the bath with me and started to rub it on my skin. It instantly started melting and didn't lather so I was like...that sucks.
I've only just read the description now and you're supposed to use it on DRY skin and it'll melt a little and you massage it in....makes sense now.
I'm sure its a lovely product. I'm just too "duh" to use it.

Sugar Scrub
Didn't like this one.
It left scratches on the skin.

The Olive Branch Shower Gel
This smelled amazing. My only problem with it is that it doesn't lather very well. I had to use half the bottle and even then it still wasn't very good.

Karma Soap Bar
Definitely my favorite out of the 4! It smells so good. It lathered like I hoped it would. I would get this again!

If you're looking to get any of these, I hope this review helped! If you have already tried these before, did you like them?

Aviva Dresses

I've recently been contacted by Lisa from to talk about their online dress store. When I first looked at the website I thought...hrm they must be based in the UK, I wouldn't even be able to get one of these dresses!

Upon further research, I learned that they ship worldwide!
Which is great!

So for the last 45 minutes or so I've been scouring this website and let me tell you, the dresses are incredible.

The types of dresses you can find there are:
Prom dresses -both short and long
Evening dresses
Party dresses
Cocktail dresses
& more!

I wanted to share some of my favorites I found

Beaded black satin elegant evening dress
This one is my #1 favorite! I prefer more basic styles rather then bold and colorful. This dress is just beautiful!

Beaded champagne tulle long dress
It seems as though I'm mainly attracted to A-line strapped dresses!

Trumpet/Mermaid sweetheart sleeveless evening dress

Sweetheart tulle quinceanera dress with appliques

I so wish I had known about this web store during my prom! I sat here admiring all of the amazing ball gowns I wished I could have worn!

Just a little information I found on their site...

There's a sale right now- up to 85% off!

You can choose any size and color option for all of the dresses

There's also a 12 month warranty on all products!

I also read through quite a few customer reviews and they all seemed pretty happy with their purchases.

So there you go! Check them out if you want.

I also wanted to say this is a sponsored post. If I do any other sponsored posts in the future I will always let you know that it is. My opinions and reviews will always be 100% honest. If I like something, I'll let you know. If I don't...I'll let you know :)

Christmas 2014

I hope everyone had a great Christmas!
I would have posted about Christmas sooner but we just arrived back home today.

My Christmas was pretty great! I'm definitely okay with it being over for this year though. It was pretty stressful and my stomach is killing me from all the chocolate I've been ingesting these last few days.

Christmas Eve we held supper here at our place for my family. It actually went really well for it being the first time we've hosted dinner before!

My grandparents came up to visit from Cape Breton for 8 days! It was really nice having them around.

Me and my little brother Nathan

This is my pop :)

Craig and I

This time with our niece Eva

Everyone opening their presents!
(Excuse our bare kitchen! Still settling in ;)

The next morning we hurried around trying to get everything packed in the car to head down to Cape Breton. When we arrived at Craig's mothers we all sat around and opened some presents there and had delicious turkey dinner.

The next day Craig and I went around visiting family and friends and decided to visit one of my most favorite places back home! Its called the back beach. Across the road is the front beach ( lol very creative, I know)

The front beach is a very beautiful, long, sandy beach whereas the back beach is very rocky with cliffs.

I love it down there.

On the 27th Craig's sister got married! It was such a beautiful wedding! I had a really nice time. I'm going to do a whole separate post on that once I get a few more pictures from it! So watch for that!

Today before we left we just hung out with Bella for a bit :)

Isn't she adorable!

And of course, the day we left it started to snow!! By the time we got back home the snow was all gone! Oh well!

I also went to the movies with my cousin during this visit. We went to see Into the Woods. I may do a review on that.

Sorry this post is soo long! I just wanted to fit it all into one! :)
Hope your holidays were wonderful!

Christmas | The Good & The Bad

Tomorrow is Christmas!
I find this month just flew by!
After tomorrow its all over for another year.

I wanted to share some of the good and bad things about Christmas:

The Good
It doesn't quite feel like Christmas until the decorations come out! Your home is instantly transformed into this wonderful Christmas land. Putting the tree up is one of the funnest parts of decorating. It makes everything feel nice and cozy.

The Bad
Trying to find your decorations. All stuffed in boxes hidden away in closets. Something is always broken. Not to mention when its time to take down your decorations NOTHING ever fits back in the box! And once all of your decorations are put away it looks like someone just robbed your house. Everything looks so bare.

Gift Buying:

The Good
Buying gifts for people you love just makes you feel good! Searching the stores for goodies you think they'll enjoy. Once you find that perfect gift you can't wait until they open it!

The Bad
Having those people on your Christmas list that are just impossible to buy for! Usually resulting in buying their presents last minute, which is just stressful. Also having that worry that they won't like the presents you bought them.

Hosting Christmas dinner:

The Good
Having all of your loved ones at your place. Planning the perfect meal and just being able to enjoy great company over the holidays.

The Bad
Stress. Worrying if you bought everything you need, if your food tastes good, who likes this who doesn't like that. Finding space for 10 at your 6 person table. Trying to keep everybody else happy that you forget to have a good time yourself.

Waking up early Christmas morning:

The Good
The excitement of Christmas! The joy of opening your presents and listening to Christmas music in the early morning.

The Bad
Waking up early.

Not having Christmas at home:

The Good
Spending time with relatives during Christmas. Not having to worry about making Christmas dinner. Not having a huge mess to clean up after presents are all opened. Having a little mini vacation if your relatives live away.

The Bad
Lugging presents to and from the other persons home. The drive to get there. Just the overall feeling of not being in your own home on Christmas.

So thats my Christmas Good and Bad list! I just did this for fun, I really love Christmas!

We're leaving for Cape Breton tomorrow morning and won't be back until the 28th so this will be my last post until then.

I hope everyone has an amazing Christmas!!

Wreck this Journal

I've seen a few bloggers post their Wreck this Journal.
They looked soo fun and I wished I could get one myself but I've never seen them around here before. Last night me and Craig went to a craft store called Michaels.
We were in one of the aisles looking at pencils and I happened to glance over at the sketchbooks and I spotted this lonely Wreck this Journal sitting on the shelf!

I was so excited!
I did a few entries this evening and I thought I would share it with you.
They're quite interesting...

I didn't have white so I used red!

I never crack the spine on any of my books so this was quite fun!

I don't drink coffee so I used pop instead!

These things are really fun! Its basically just a book that you destroy.
Some of the instructions are hilarious!

Do you have a Wreck this Journal?

Swirly Shortbreads

I just finished making these swirly shortbreads! I think they turned out alright for my first try!

How to make these:

You can find my shortbread recipe here. I always use the same recipe.

Now you have to make two separate batches. One regular and then with the other batch, you add food coloring. Whichever color you like. I used red but they came out more of a pinkish color! Oh well.

Lay your first batch of dough out on parchment paper. Stretch it out. Then lay your new colored dough on top of the first dough. ( I should have taken pictures but I was in a rush! Sorry!)

Carefully carry the parchment paper to your fridge and lay it in the freezer.

I left mine in there for about an hour.

Take it out and let it sit for a few minutes.

Now for the tricky part. You have to roll your dough. I couldn't get mine off of the parchment paper and rolled without having it break apart in places. When you try this you will get frustrated and want to throw it all away, don't do that! lol

So I started to roll my dough with the parchment paper still under it. I rolled it into a tubular shape and then I carefully peeled the parchment paper off of the dough.

Miraculously I got all of the paper off while keeping it together- for the most part.
The end pieces I kind of had to squish it all together.

Don't worry though, if you can't get it to roll at all, just mash your two colored doughs together and it'll have a nice marble look to it!

Just follow the rest of my cooking instructions on my recipe post!

I love shortbread cookies! What are your favorite kinds of cookies?

Good Morning!

Breakfast today: Almond butter with banana on toast and jasmine green tea.

Good Morning!
Just thought I would make a quick post to say hi!

I had tea for breakfast today! You're probably like, so what? I never drink tea though. I heard green tea is supposed to be pretty good for you so I gave it a try and it was actually really good!

I have a lot to do today. Im waiting for my mom to pick me up right now. We're going to Target (surprise, surprise)

I also gave my blog a little update.

I hope everyone has a great day!
And I wanted to say Hello to everyone who has followed me recently!
I really appreciate anyone taking the time to read my blog :)

Small Haul | Target

I've been to Target a few times this past week & I thought I would share what I found with you!
I've just been loving everything I see in target lately!

Thermal shirt with little foxes!! I had to buy this when I saw it. Its so cute and comfortable!

I usually stick to plain old black or grey socks but I took a liking to these when I saw them!
They have sort of an aztec-y feel to them AND they were only $1.00

I went a bought a dress last night for Craig's sisters wedding this month and I was on the hunt for some accessories to match it. This bracelet was perfect! Its almost the exact color of the dress I found!

And last but certainly not least..earrings! These earrings were too adorable not to buy! The missing pair I am currently wearing..they are the same as the first pair only cream colored.

Hope you liked this post! Do you love Target as much as I do?!

The Winter Tag

Time for another tag.
I love winter! Everything is so crisp and beautiful. Here's a little tag about all things winter!

What's 3 things you like to do during winter?
1. Going for walks while its snowing
2. Taking pictures outside
3. Staying in all snuggled up watching a movie

Do you like the snow?
I LOVE snow!

Does it even snow where you live?
Yes it does, normally. Although this year we still haven't gotten any! :(

What's the best part about winter time?
How beautiful everything looks.

Is winter your favorite season?
I love all four seasons. I couldn't just pick one favorite! But its definitely up there.

I wouldn't say a lot but I do pretty well

Do you help put up and decorate the Christmas tree?
Usually. I love decorating the tree!

Do you have a stocking?
Yes I do. We still haven't taken them out of storage yet though!

Do you like the cold winter weather?
I actually do! I'm not one for the heat so the winter is nice for me. Although there is some days when its just brutally cold here. One day last year I walked to work and my eyelashes actually had ice on them. Im not kidding.

Do you build snowmen?
I can't remember the last time I did!

How many blankets do you sleep with in winter?
The same amount as the rest of the year.

Would you rather:

Gloves with no hat. I need my hands warm!

Go sledding or ice skating?
Ice skating!

Your toes go numb or your fingers?
hmm toes I suppose

Drink hot chocolate or apple cider?
Hot chocolate! Even though it doesn't agree with me.

I hope you enjoyed this post! I tag anyone who reads this! Let me know if you do it so I can go take a look!

Staff Christmas Party!

Tonight was our Christmas party at work!
The whole day was pretty great because it was also our bosses birthday.
We surprised her with a little party just for her in the morning, worked very fast and then started our Christmas party at 4:30. The boss usually goes all out for our parties and this year was no exception!
She supplies all food, drinks and presents!

Here's my little Christmas party..haul? ( Is that a thing?)

1.Super cute wrap around ring // 2. Candle holder // 3. Sheepskin boots

I'm extremely grateful for all the presents. I'm not sure how I feel about the boots though.

I thought I would share some of my personal staff party do's and dont's

-Bring a change of clothes ( especially when you work with flour all day)
-Bring your own drinks if you don't like what everyone else is having
-Have fun! Let go of the work day and just relax!

-Drink vodka and orange juice when you know orange juice upsets your stomach
-Pick the chair where the most traffic is, resulting in you having to stand up every 2 minutes
-Eat all the cheese and crackers when your not supposed to have dairy and then go home early because you get sick..

Do you enjoy your staff Christmas parties?

My Bucket List

When I think of a bucket list I usually associate it with death. Probably because of that one movie..the bucket list. Also because a bucket list is a list you create of all the things you'd like to accomplish before you die. Instead of creating my list with death in mind, i'm going to associate this one with Living.
I want to check off each item on my list feeling completely alive afterward.

1. Travel all of Canada
I've wanted to do this forever. I love travelling and visiting every province in Canada is the first thing I want to do.

2. Travel all of the States
Why stop at Canada?

3. Ride in a hot air balloon
This would be incredible. I just need to find a place nearby that offers hot air balloon rides.

4. Bungee Jump
This is probably on everyones bucket list but I would 100% love to do this. I've already jumped with a parachute attached, why not a bungee cord?

5. Ride on an elephant
Just because.

6. Scuba dive
I think it would be so amazing to go somewhere tropical and learn to scuba dive!

7. Swim with dolphins
Maybe I'll see a dolphin while scuba diving...

8. Go to a 30 Seconds to Mars concert
I've never in my life gone to see a concert. A 30STM concert is probably the only one I'd ever go to.

9. Have my own business
I've always dreamt of being my own boss. The problem is I have no idea what kind of business I would have.

10. Learn a new language
I would love to learn Latin and Gaelic someday.

11. Design and build my dream home
I'm so building myself a library like Belle's.

12. Pay off my student loans

Hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what's on your bucket list!

My Christmas Princess

This evening Craig and I went to visit my sister and her family.
I thought I'd share some photos I took of Eva.

Life Lately | My Weekend

This weekend was really good.
Thursday Craig's sister, her fiance and their daughter came up to visit. They stayed here with us on Thursday night.

Friday morning I got to hang out with my two beautiful nieces.

Isabella and Eva

Saturday we shopped a little and then everyone went to Craig's fathers for supper. I had lobster...mmm

Today me and craig wrapped some presents!

We're not completely finished yet but it feels good to have most of it done.

And this is our little tree.

We weren't putting a tree up this year because we just moved in and didn't have any decorations. I told my sister we weren't getting one so she did this little one up for us. Very thoughtful!

How was your weekend?
