There isn't much I don't like in the sense of food! haha He's definitely right about milk though. I even hate the smell!

It depends on the shoe

To be fair, I do also collect coins.

The Bedtime Tag

Oh look, another tag! I've kindly been tagged by Jess over at Jess in Retrospect to do the Bedtime Tag! Make sure you head on over to her awesome blog!

1. What are your favorite pyjamas?
I think my current favorite pair would be the pair Craig's mom gave me for Christmas. They're black with tigers on them! Check them out.

2. Current bedtime reading?
Sing you home by Jodi Picoult. Although it isn't technically my "bedtime" reading. I also read it throughout the day.

3. What is on your bedside table?
Nothing! We don't have a bedside table. Our bed is nestled in between two walls.

4. Favorite sleepy scent?
Lavender. There's a certain body wash i'll buy every now and then thats lavender scented. I love getting a shower or even using it as bubble bath just before going to bed. I can always guarantee peaceful sleeps when I do this.

5. What is your usual bedtime and wake up time?
My sleeping routines are usually all over the place. I'll have periods where I cannot fall asleep until close to 2am and wake up late. And then there are times (like now) where I've been sleepy by 9:30- 10:00. I usually wake up for work between 7:15 and 8:00 though.

6. Top 3 bedtime products?
I only have two. My chapstick - which I apply every night before bed. And a hair tie. My hair is longer now and I can't stand having it go all over the place while I sleep.

7. Your most common sleeping position?
Either on my side or half on my stomach with one arm up under my pillow and one leg raised out to the side.

8. Any strange bedtime routines?
Not really. Besides making sure I apply chapstick lol

9. Are you a big spoon or a little spoon?
Usually the little spoon.

I'm not going to personally tag anyone in this so if you feel like doing it, leave your links in the comments so I can check them out!

Small Haul | Coles & Payless

" all good things are wild and free."

I had a bit of spending money today...

Here's what I got.

//Champion Sneakers (similar)// From Payless

I saw this pack of 3 notebooks last week and I knew I was going to get them eventually! They're so cute!

And this adorable fox bookmark! My current bookmark is looking pretty shabby, so I bought this one. You just clip it to your cover.

The 7 year pens are handy to have. We bought Craig's sister one almost 3 years ago and she's still using it!
The sneakers were a "must buy now" purchase. I've been in desperate need of a new pair of sneakers for a while but I kept putting it off. Now that I have a pair, i'm happy!

I hope you enjoyed this small haul! I was thinking those notebooks and bookmark would make a pretty good giveaway. I'm not sure though- my last giveaway only had about 5 entries haha!
We'll see.

Flashback Friday #25

December 2009

This was the month we moved into our very first apartment together!
We were together for almost 3 years at this point.
It was a crappy basement apartment that was extremely cold during the winter.
I remember being so scared moving out on our own!

The Best Road Trip Playlist

Once the snow melts and the warmer weather hits, its time to hit the road!
One of my absolute favorite things to do in life is hop in the car with Craig and just start driving.
So i've made a playlist compiled of songs that I think are perfect for a road trip! These songs don't exactly have anything to do with road trips, they're just songs that make me happy and make me think about what i'd want to hear during a road trip :)

I know most of these songs are older but just give them a listen! These songs are sure to make you feel happy.

The Truth About Long-Term Relationships

Today I want to talk about relationships. That is, the truth about relationships. Now I'm no expert on the matter but being in a happy, healthy, 8 + year relationship- I like to pretend I know a thing or two.

Let's get on with it, shall we.

1) In the beginning, you will have butterflies constantly.
Making eye contact, talking to them on the phone, an accidental (or not) brushing of your arms, legs, anything- will make you feel like a million butterflies are dancing in your belly. It's the greatest feeling in the world.

2) The butterflies (unfortunately) do stop.
Those beautiful butterflies will eventually turn into old moths that just kind of hang out in your attic with the occasional flutter every now and then. Don't worry. This doesn't mean that you aren't in love or attracted to your partner anymore. It just means that you are now used to them. Their touches and kisses have just become familiar.

3) The lovey-dovey stuff ends - for the most part.
I'm not saying all of your romance dies after a while, but it does become less frequent. In the beginning of a relationship, you can't help but make every moment, every gesture, feel like it came straight out of a romance novel. Its new love! That's how its supposed to feel.
Dates, getting flowers, love letters- they all still happen, but it takes a conscious effort in making sure you DO all of those things. You just become comfortable and sometimes (to put it bluntly) a little lazy.

4) You partner WILL become your best friend.
I know, how cheesy. You probably think those people are annoying who say their boyfriend/girlfriend is their best friend. But its true. You spend so much time with them (especially if you live together) that they end up knowing you better than you know yourself. They know your favorite things, what makes you happy and how to push all of your buttons to annoy you. Eventually you just can't imagine life without them.

5) You will reach the "make it or break it" moment.
Once you reach a certain point in your relationship, lets say around the 5 year mark, you are going to question yourself. Does this person still make me happy? Are we fighting more than not? Can I see myself starting a family and growing old with them? And usually this moment sneaks up on you without even realizing it. The best thing to do is take a little time apart and re-evaluate everything. You'll be happy you did. It usually ends up being nothing. If you know you're in it for the long haul, you'll probably realize you guys were just stuck in a rut and you'll be more than grateful for giving yourselves time apart so you can see how much you truly love each other.

So, the ultimate truth about long term relationships is that they are hard work.
You will fight, you will question, your partner will continuously surprise you and you will love more deeply than you've ever thought possible.
Nothing worth having comes easy.

Thanks for reading!

Wallflowers | Bath & Body Works

Before today, I have never gone into a Bath & Body Works. Crazy right? So many people rave about that store and now I can see why.
It makes you feel quite happy just stepping inside. The bright colors of candles and hand soap surrounding you. The mixture of scents.
Not only was I happy with everything I saw, I was pleasantly surprised to see such great deals in there! I honestly thought it was going to be a pretty expensive store.

Anyway, the point of this post is showing you the cutest little fragrance plug i've ever seen!

They're called wallflowers by Bath & Body Works.

I got the sunflower one! I just love it. I've been searching for something like this for a while now but haven't come across anything I really loved. We have a random outlet in our porch area where our shoes and coats go and I really wanted some kind of fresh fragrance in there.

The plug-in was only $9.50. I thought that was a pretty decent price. There's at least 10 others to choose from if you don't like the sunflower.

For the scent I picked the Eucalyptus Mint & Rain one. If you've read my other post on the snow we're still getting here (this one) then you know how fed up I am of Winter and in desperate need of Spring. This scent is perfect for the springtime! Flowers and rain...can't get any more spring-like than that! The re-fills are normally $7.50 but they're on sale right now and I only paid $3.50 for it!

I could start to smell it within minutes of plugging it in! This has definitely been one of my favorite purchases in a while.

Happy First Day of Spring!

Even though it doesn't look like Spring outside, the flowers are certainly blooming inside!

The beginning of this week Craig bought me some white lilies (my absolute favorite). He got me four.
All of them were still buds so I've been patiently waiting for them to bloom.

It just so happened that one of my lilies bloomed today! What perfect timing! The first day of Spring and a glorious white lily shows itself!

The fragrance from this one flower is incredible. I can smell it as soon as I step into my kitchen!

I hope you all have an amazing day today! Even if you're battling knee-deep snow like I am, I hope the sun is at least shining for you today.

You can expect to see a few Spring themed posts from me in the near future!

About Me From A to Z | B!

B is for...Beauty!

Its been a while since I've done my "about me from a to z" series! I'm only on the letter B!
For the Beauty section I have decided to share with you my Every Day Make-up Look.

This is the look I wear every single day. I'm not one to wear a lot of make-up so this is probably going to be a little on the boring side haha! I like to wear makeup, but I like it to have a "barely there" feel to it.

Excuse the look of me here. This is my face completely free of makeup.

For a while now I've been using the Cover Girl Ready Set Gorgeous foundation in the shade 105 classic ivory. I like this foundation because it gives a light-to-medium coverage and like I said earlier, I don't like to wear a ton of makeup. Its also pretty cheap. I buy mine from Walmart!

For concealer I use the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser in the Light shade. ( I'm a ghost). Everyone raves about this concealer and while I like it, I don't love it. It does an alright job but I don't find it hides dark circles like it claims to.

For blush I use this cheap L.A. Girl blush in the shade Just Pinched. I've honestly never heard of this brand before I bought this blush. I think it was like under $2.00 at the drugstore so I bought it. As you can see, I dropped it and it broke into a million little pieces. A trip to the store for a new one is in my future.

Next I use my Maybelline Great Lash in Clear -Transparent. This may seem a little odd to you but its the only "mascara" I can use. I'm allergic to regular mascara. I've tried all kinds- organic, hypoallergenic, nothing works. The clear mascara is just meant to define your lashes. Its good enough for me!

And for the end I use my Annabelle Smoothliner eyeliner. It does the job I guess. Any eyeliner I use tends to just rub off after about an hour to two anyway!

And this is the finished look! Very subtle. I usually throw on some blistex and I'm good to go!

Hope you enjoyed reading!

Need. Spring. Now.

I know, I know. You're probably all tired of hearing me talk about how much I need Spring. The thing is, most of you are probably already experiencing little bits of spring sprouting out in your area. So you're probably thinking..what the heck is she going on about?

This is what we woke up to this morning...

Our car is practically buried. The only upside is that work was cancelled today.

I realize now that we'll probably be skipping right over Spring this year and heading directly into Summer. Yay.

How is your day going?

Any green grass or flowers sprouting where you live yet?

We decided to head outside. Craig has been shovelling and I was clearing the car off.

Just some pictures trying to show how high the snow is..

Thats the oil tank in our backyard

Ten on Tuesday | Pet Peeves

Pet peeves. Everybody has at least one. Today I'm going to share with you ten of mine..

1. When people scrape their teeth off of their fork or spoon while they eat.

2. When someone interrupts you in the middle of a sentence and you try to repeat what you're saying multiple times.

3. Gum smacking.

4. When someone on Facebook writes on your wall letting you know that they sent you a message to your inbox. As if you aren't going to see the little red notification by your messages.

5. This is just something I personally don't like- When girls leave foundation all over their lips once they do their makeup and their lips now look all splotchy. (Sorry if you do this)

6. That person who has or knows every single thing you talk about.

7. When people take too long to "get to the point" of something. Like an explanation.

8. When a person acts differently around certain people.

9. When people are more interested in their phones than having a conversation with you.

10. Hair in the bathroom sink.

So there's ten of my biggest pet peeves.

March 15, 2015

The first day of Spring is only 5 days away. I was feeling so good. The snow and ice were finally melting, the air was a little warmer.
And then I wake up.
It is currently snowing and freezing rain outside. Talk about a damper on my happy mood.

This post is dedicated to Spring. I need a little visual pick-me-up on things to come.

The Fairytale Tag

SNOW WHITE: Do you consider yourself beautiful?
It's hard to think of myself as beautiful.
But I don't think i'm ugly.
Everyone is beautiful in their own way.

SLEEPING BEAUTY: How many hours do you sleep at night?
Oh, at least 8.
Sometimes more if I have an opportunity to sleep in.
I could easily sleep for 10-11 hours and it wouldn't bother me one bit.

CINDERELLA: Do you have a curfew?
No I do not.
I can't remember ever having a curfew growing up.

RAPUNZEL: Do you love being outside?
So much!
I'm itching for this cold snowy weather to go away so I can be out!

RED RIDING HOOD: Do you trust strangers easily?
I wouldn't say "trust".
I do like to think a person is going to be good first, before thinking they are bad.

THE WOLF AND THE SEVEN YOUNG KIDS: Are you easy to fool?
Not at all.

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST: What makes someone beautiful in your eyes?
Their personalities.
It sounds cheesy but its true! If you have a nasty personality its going to show on the outside.

THE LITTLE MERMAID: What would you sacrifice for love?
Hmm..It depends really.
If it meant losing the love I already have, i'd sacrifice anything.
But if its like the little mermaid where she has to sacrifice something in order to "maybe" find love, then I can't really see me doing it haha
( have you ever read the ACTUAL fairy tale of The little mermaid? A lot more grim than the Disney version)

THE FROG KING: What do you find disgusting?
We make a kidney pie at work and the smell is enough to gag a maggot.

JACK AND THE BEANSTALK: What plants do you have?
The invisible kind.
Very easy to take care of.

PUSS IN BOOTS: Do you have pets? If not, do you want them?
I do not have any :(
I'm allergic to most animals.
Although there is a type of dog thats supposed to be the most hypoallergenic in the world, I will one day test out that theory.

BLUEBEARD: What is your weak point?
It doesn't matter how hard I try to stay away from it, I just can't.

PINOCCHIO: What is your biggest wish?
To be able to travel wherever/whenever I want.
Even if I don't make it around the world, just seeing all of Canada would be great.

PETER PAN: What is your mental age?
I feel for the most part I act my age. In public anyway.
But there are some days when I act like a 5 year old.

THE STAR MONEY: What is your most valuable possession?
These probably aren't really valuable, but I love my coin collection.

GOLDEN MARY AND PITCH MARY: Are you a hard worker or a lazy one?
Definitely hard.
When i'm doing something I need to give it my all or it doesn't feel good enough.

THE SNOW QUEEN: Who is your best friend and what would you do for him/her?
Craig is my best friend.
Lame, I know.
I'd definitely pop a zit for him.

THE PRINCESS AND THE PEA: Are you sensitive?
Yes I am.
Both mentally and physically.
My skin reacts to everything and I take everything to heart.

GODFATHER DEATH: What qualities make a good parent?
When they can be your parent but also your friend too.
One who always makes you feel comforted and loved.
One who teaches you how to make good decisions in life.

THE WORN OUT DANCING SHOES: Do you like parties?
Not really.
I'm more of a homebody. I would rather be with a few people than a large group.

THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES: Do you care a lot about your clothing?
I do.
In the sense that I won't wear something if its got a stain or the tiniest little hole. I dunno, I just can't do it.

THE BRAVE LITTLE TAILOR: Do you consider yourself brave?
In some ways, yes.

That was fun!
I'm actually going to tag people for once!

Breaking The Habit

I found this picture last night. I thought, wow..that is actually so very true. People usually have conversations about "what's going wrong in their lives". I think the reason for this is because:

1. It's so easy to fixate on the bad things happening. They tend to consume you.

2. When someone else brings up all of their problems, we get sucked into their "negative hole" and realize all of the problems in our lives.

3. We feel "bad" for talking about all of the good things in our lives.

Its kind of hard to explain what I mean by us feeling "bad" for talking about our joys. I'll give you an example.
Say if you're at work, and the people you work with are normally chronic complainers. Something great has just happened in your life and you feel the overwhelming need to share it with everyone. So you go ahead and share your news. Sometimes you may get the reaction you were looking for- someone else sharing your joy- but most times you get a blunt Oh yeah? Thats nice. And then they go back to talking about whatever is wrong with them.

Your joyful happy bubble has just been popped. You now feel disappointed that no one else feels the same happiness you do about the subject. And you probably feel guilty now because something great has just made you happy, while the person next to you seems to be swimming in a pool of crap.

But it doesn't have to be like that.

I'm going to share my joys from now on. But that's not all. I'm going to help people realize their joys as well. If i'm with someone who has been complaining most of the day about their problems, I'm going to ask them a simple question.

What has made you happy lately?

Hopefully this sparks something inside them and they feel joy for a least a few minutes thinking and talking about what has made them happy.

I'm not saying I'm never going to talk about my problems again. Everyone needs to vent and get things off their chests. But I'm going to make sure I talk about the good things too.

So to end this post I thought I'd share some of my joys with you!

- Spring is almost here! And I can actually feel my depressing mood lift day by day as the sun shines just a little bit longer.

- The days I get to spend with my niece. She's only 2 but is already so smart. She was trying to tell me something the other day and I couldn't make out what she was saying. So I kept saying words I thought she said and she would shake her head no. Finally I said, I'm sorry I'm so bad at baby speak. Then I looked at her and said " You can understand everything I'm saying to you though can't you?" And she looked at me with her little arm raised in the air and said Yes. It made me laugh.

- Craig.
When you're in a relationship for a long time (ours being 8 years) you sometimes have these moments where something happens and the other persons steps up and really shows you that you mean absolutely everything to them. It makes you feel like you're falling in love all over again with them. And everything just feels perfect. I was having a pretty rough day yesterday and the attention and support I received from Craig was over the moon. So at the end of the night I hugged him and named off every single thing he did yesterday that made me feel loved and I Thanked him.

I am happy and full of joy.
Don't let the bad in your world overpower the good.
Talk about your joys everyday!

5 Dinner Guests | Real & Fictional

I've seen a few bloggers do this recently and I thought it would be fun deciding what characters- real or not- I would have over for dinner!

1. Jared Leto
How could Jared Leto not be my #1 guest?
He's the lead singer of a band called 30 Seconds to Mars which happens to be my absolute favorite band since I was about 14. Not to mention he's an incredible actor.
If he were my guest he'd have to sing to me the entire night..

2. Pocahontas
Aside from Belle, Pocahontas has always been my favorite Disney "Princess". I don't really classify her as a princess but most people do. I think she's the most beautiful out of them all.
Pocahontas has always been one of my favorite Disney movies of all time.
If she were my guest she'd have to bring along Meeko and Flit.

3. Tim Burton
This man has brought so many of my favorite movies into my life. The Nightmare before Christmas, Corpse Bride -just to name a few. I love the way his brain works. I love the weird, creepiness he brings to the movie world. A man with scissors for hands? Who else would come up with that?

4. Shane Dawson
We'd need a funny man at the dinner party. Shane Dawson is the guy I'd choose for that! My all-time favorite Youtuber. I've been watching his videos pretty much since he started making them.
A lot of people don't seem to get his weird, sick, sense of humor but I love it!

5. Rumplestiltskin from Once Upon A Time

And last but not least, Rumplestiltskin.
The one from Once Upon A Time. He's definitely my favorite character on the show. I find him hilarious. I love him as Rumple but I also really like him as Mr. Gold too.

So thats my list!
