Weekend Day Trip

This past weekend Craig and I took a little day trip!

Finally, its nice enough outside to get back to our little mini adventures!

So the day started out with us getting ready to find a giant yard sale. Craig read about it online and thought we should go. The place was maybe half an hour away.

We get there...and found out the yard sale was the day before! haha

We took advantage of being out in the country anyway and drove along the water through Lawrencetown.

We stopped at this little cafe place (we assumed it was a gift shop/market of some sort but it wasn't) so feeling a little awkward walking in we figured we should buy something.

We ordered two cinnamon rolls and a juice.

To say these cinnamon rolls were disgusting is an understatement.

The roll itself was hard. But the icing is what did it for me. Look at that! It looks like clumpy cheese of some sort. Ew.

Anyway, we continued driving and stopped at a beautiful beach.

Back in the car we go! We continued driving a bit and we saw this huge hill with a walking path going up it. Of course we needed to walk up there and see what was at the top!

(It doesn't look that big in the picture but trust me, she was steep!)

Turns out there wasn't a whole lot at the top. Nothing actually.

It did have a pretty amazing view though! Looking to the left you see...

And looking to the right you see...

Did I ever mention everywhere you turn in Nova Scotia you will see water?

So that was pretty much our day. We also enjoyed a delicious meal at Cora's and later had a Blizzard (ice cream) from DQ.

It makes me so happy to be out exploring again! Thank you for finally deciding to leave snow!

DO YOU ENJOY DAY TRIPS?

  2. That view on the top of the hill is amazing! I always feel like it's so hard to walk away from hills, I just want to know whats at the top and the other side. That cinnamon roll on the other hand... I think would be must easier to walk away from. I'm so sorry you had to encounter that cinnamon roll!

  4. Lawrencetown beach looks a lot like Seaside, Oregon. I spend as many days as possible there in the summer. Great pictures! Now I miss the seaside :'( haha

  6. Great pictures and it looked like you had a great time too! It is always fun just to stop by and observe surroundings every once in a while and beach sighting is really peaceful. I think that cinammon roll is pretty deceiving until you take your first bite off of it haha.. That does not even look like an authentic cinammon roll!
