Reading| This month i've finished Invisible by James Patterson. Pretty good. I've just started reading The Road. Not sure how I feel about it yet but it might turn out okay.

Watching| We finally got Netflix back! yayy! So this month I finally got to finish Once Upon A Time. Well, as much as whats on Netflix anyway. I watched About A Boy- really good! I've also just begun Making a Murderer.

Listening| Selena Gomez! How great is her stuff lately!?

Eating| A lot healthier these days since my GD scare. Tons of fruits- bananas mostly. I seem to have taken a real liking to them!

Excited| For baby of course!

Hoping| That I have a smooth delivery. I know its still 4 months away but its always on my mind!

Buying| Well this month we picked up a little bath and shower set for the baby. Plus some baby towels and wash cloths- so cute! We also found a really nice dresser at a second hand store that were going to paint to match our bedroom furniture. I'll probably blog the process!

Searching| I'm not really searching for anything at the moment!

Explored| No where! We need to get out more!

Let me know how your January went!

Pregnancy Diary | Dealing With Anxiety While Pregnant

This post turned out to be much longer then I intended!! Sorry about that!
Something I don't think I've ever talked about on my blog is that I suffer from anxiety. Even though I know talking about it usually helps, its just not something I enjoy talking about. But today, i'm going to.

Having to deal with anxiety has been one of the biggest stresses during my pregnancy so far. I keep telling myself, "I know I can't be alone in this, I know there has to be other women who have dealt with anxiety while pregnant." But no matter how much I keep telling myself this, I still feel like its just me. Like i'm the only one who cannot fully enjoy everything pregnancy has to offer.

I'm the type of person who worries a lot. Every strange ache or pain causes terror. Leading me to feel like i'm always on the brink of death. Which in turn causes me to take panic attacks which quite literally makes me feel like I am dying. Most of my anxiety is like this. Other days I just feel sad for no apparent reason. For days-sometimes weeks- I can just cry out of nowhere, which- you guessed it, usually leads to more panic attacks.

Up until about a week ago I was doing quite well with everything. Aside from the first three months of pregnancy when I was terrified of every change that was happening to me and my body and stressed daily that I could possibly lose the baby during this time. Once the four month mark hit though I felt really good. I was your typical happy go-lucky pregnant girl. I enjoyed seeing my belly grow, I didn't care anymore that my boobs now sport stretch marks. Little things still worried me but for the most part I was great.

January 14th was my very first ultrasound. It was truly a magical moment. Everything went great, baby was right on track and we headed on our merry way. Then I get home a few hours later and there's a message from my doctor on the phone. Telling me I had another ultrasound booked for the following week. I called the office back thinking they must have been confused because I just had my ultrasound. The receptionist then says, "no sweetie, this ultrasound was called in today, they need to re-check some things." *Cue panic attack*

This isn't something a pregnant woman wants to hear. Especially not one who has anxiety. Of course i'm going to assume something was wrong and they need to check it out. Why wouldn't I think that? Luckily I had a scheduled baby doctors appointment the very next day so I could ask her what was going on. To my relief the only issue was that the baby wasn't in the proper position to get pictures of their spine and cord. While at this appointment my doctor told me she wanted me to go for my glucose screening since I would already be at the hospital again for my next ultrasound. For anyone who doesn't know, they do a glucose blood test to make sure you don't have gestational diabetes. Something that is actually quite common during pregnancy but not something one typically wants to deal with. So off I went on January 20th for my follow up ultrasound and glucose test.

They make you drink this gross sugary orange liquid and make you wait an hour. Then you have your blood drawn. Afterwards I came home feeling pretty good. Later on that night is when everything turned to crap. I was home alone and started getting that strange feeling I get before a panic attack sets in. I decided to grab a book and get into the bath to try and relax myself before anything could happen. This didn't work and I ended up having an attack while in the bath and two more that same night. I was kind of confused because there really wasn't a whole lot going on for me to feel anxious. Definitely not anxious enough to cause not one but three attacks in one night. I woke up the next morning feeling drained as I normally do after having panic attacks but I went to work anyway and by the time I came home that evening I was feeling pretty good. Happy even. Then I received another phone call.

Again, it was the doctors office saying my doctor needed to see me. Of course they wouldn't tell me what it was regarding over the phone but I know they only call you in themselves when things aren't quite right. *Cue the biggest panic attack I think I've ever experienced in my life*

It could only be one of two things. Either something bad came back from my sugar test or something was wrong in the ultrasound. It honestly drove me crazy the rest of the night not knowing what was going on I had to call the office as soon as it opened the next day and said "listen, I suffer from anxiety and I can't wait until Wednesday to find out what's going on. I just need to know what this appointment is regarding." She then told me it has to do with blood work. I was immediately relieved that it wasn't the baby but still quite upset at the thought that I probably have gestational diabetes.

So this is where I am today. Impatiently waiting for Wednesday morning to come to see what she has to say about my blood work. I've had one more panic attack last night and just feel absolutely terrible at the moment. I feel so bad because in my head I feel like every time I have an attack, the baby probably is too. I don't want to stress my baby out. But I don't know what to do.

Wow this post is long!! I am really sorry about that and if you actually read this entire thing than you rock. It actually feels pretty good having it all written out. If you have any tips on how you handle your own anxiety, it would be greatly appreciated! I have a few tips that work for me for the most part which i'll probably share in another post. I hope you are all having a lovely night, see you next time.

Pregnancy Diary

Hey guys! It's been a few days since my last post. Almost a week I believe! Sorry about that but I've not been feeling so great these past few days. I've been feeling okay physically but I can't really say the same mentally. Which leads me to today's post and an idea of a sort of "pregnancy diary series".

I know a lot of people do not come to my blog to read about some girl being pregnant but hey, this is my blog, it's a lifestyle blog, and being pregnant just so happens to be a major thing going on in my life at the moment!

The idea of this series will be to kind of just record things happening at the moment, things that might be bothering me, but most importantly, i'll be focusing on what its like to handle a pregnancy while suffering with anxiety. Let me tell you, it's no walk in the park.

I want this to be a place where I share the good, the bad and the ugly when it comes to being pregnant. While there is so much excitement during this time, it can also be one of the scariest times and maybe through writing these posts i'll not only help myself but hopefully help someone else who might be feeling the same way I am.

So yeah, these posts will be sporadic and I won't have any set times for them. Just random topics that might come up. I might have a lot going on one week and post a couple of times or I might only post once a month, who knows!

I hope it doesn't bother anyone too much when I post about pregnancy! Also, if you happen to be pregnant yourself and suffer from anxiety, please leave a comment- i'm sure i'll be able to relate! :)

Hope your weekend was wonderful!

To Love Someone

It's easy to question yourself. Especially on matters of the heart. Especially on days when you feel like you have absolutely no idea what you're doing. It's easy to feel like you're not doing your best, or that maybe your best just isn't good enough. It's easy to feel deflated. Like you couldn't possibly give anymore. That there is most definitely someone out there who is better than you.

That's the thing about love. It's so unpredictable. One minute you're completely head over heels for someone and the next, it's gone. Love is confusing. It's almost impossible to write about because you could never put into words how you truly feel. I'm not writing this because I'm no longer in love. No, in fact i'm quite madly in love. I wanted to write about the struggles people face with love. Or more importantly, the struggles people face within themselves when it comes to love.

On the twenty-third of this month, Craig and I will celebrate nine years together. That's quite a feat for two people in their mid-twenties. Nine years and I can honestly say, without an ounce of doubt in my mind, that I am still completely in love. Although I often wonder how this is even possible.

You can imagine during the last nine years we've had our fair share of arguments. Intense arguments. Arguments that lead to tears and others that lead to hugs. It's so easy to get caught up in life's stressful moments sometimes and take it out on the person you love. When does the person you love become your own personal punching bag? How does the person you love more than anything all of sudden become this being that you can so easily hurt? When in the beginning you could never imagine hurting them. Not even a little.

These are the moments I struggle to understand. How can we go from wanting to tear one another's heads off, to missing their touch when they're not here? How can two people who love each other so much get on each other's nerves so easily? How can you want to be away from them but not want them to leave your side all at once?

Because this is what it means to love someone.

I guess what I wanted you to get from this post is that it can be so easy to question yourself. To feel like you're not trying hard enough. To feel like you're not entitled to feeling some great love because of your actions at times. But that's what love is; it's a whole mess of emotions. To feel angry with someone but to love them so fiercely you could never imagine not being with them. We're not making it fair on ourselves to even begin to try to understand it.

So from this day on, i'm going to try not to bring myself down over petty arguments. I'm going to try not to feel terrible after I've been exceptionally cranky with him for no reason. Because I know it wont be long before we're holding each other and laughing over something silly. Because this is what it means to love someone.

Popsugar 2016 Reading Challenge

Last year I set myself a goal of reading 20 books. I failed. I only read like 14 or something BUT that's okay. This year I've decided to set a new goal. I found this reading challenge on Popsugar and it looks like it'll be a lot of fun. Here's the challenge if you want to try it out for yourself!

Eco-Beauty Good Day. Day Moisturizer Review

I'll admit, i'm not the greatest at taking care of my face. I mean I wash it daily but I never use moisturizer or cleansers. It's funny because my face is actually pretty dry and I really should be using moisturizer daily.

It was confirmed today when I went into Shoppers looking for a new foundation and the girl working the makeup section kindly helped me pick out a matching shade. She told me I should most definitely be using moisturizer daily.

Lucky for me, Beauty Box 5 tend to send out quite a few different moisturizers in their boxes so I have a few to test out. The first one I wanted to test is the Good Day. Day Moisturizer.

There's enough in this sample for maybe 3-4 days of use.

The packaging says this is a highly natural, skin-loving product that is free of parabens, sulfates, triciosan, dyes, PEGS, artificial fragrances & animal byproducts.

The very first thing I thought when I applied this moisturizer was "this smells like green vegetables". A little like cucumber or green peppers or something green. I then read the ingredients and there is in fact cucumber so that solved that one.

The texture was nice. Creamy and not too thick feeling. It did however leave my face feeling a little tacky for a while after it was on.

Then the problem happened. At first it felt like my face was burning slightly. Just a little, nothing too major. Then I felt that old familiar itch under my chin and going down my neck. My skin is incredibly sensitive and I suffer from quite a few allergies and whenever i'm having a reaction to something that's normally what happens. I get a rash/hives under my chin and down my neck. Now I can't say for sure it was this moisturizer that did it. I also just used a new makeup remover wipe just before putting this on so it very well could have been that. Regardless I had to wash the moisturizer off soon after putting it on and just to be on the safe side I won't be using this anymore.

I'm going to have to give this a rating of 1 out of 5 seeing as I won't be using it anymore and it did feel tacky on my face.

Goosebumps The Movie Review!

I absolutely adored Goosebumps when I was a kid. I collected the books and have literally seen every single episode. So when I learned there was a new Goosebumps movie coming out the kid from within was over the moon with excitement. I had pretty high expectations of this movie and I can honestly say they were met.

I don't want to give any spoilers so i'll just give you a general idea of what the movie is about. New kid Zach moves into a house beside a young girl and her father (who seems extremely controlling). Zach and his friend go into the girls house one night and accidentally unlock a couple of R.L Stines books, which is what the movie is basically about- all of R.L Stine's stories become unlocked and the monsters are now in real life. It's everything I could want from a Goosebumps movie. All of my old favorite characters (monsters) brought back to life in one movie.

I'm giving this movie a 5/5. Maybe i'm being a little biased towards it because Goosebumps will always hold a special place in my heart but that's what i'm rating it! The story was great, Jack Black was actually an excellent R.L Stine which surprised me a little & Slappy the dummy was just as creepy now as he was back when I was a kid.

Highlights Of 2015

2015 was a pretty good year for me. Sure it had some low points but overall I would say 2015 was awesome. Here are some highlights of my year:

001. Finding out I was pregnant
Of course this had to be my number one highlight! I've never been more excited about something in my entire life. I found out at the end of September and I was so, so scared in the beginning. I still feel afraid occasionally but most of the time I just feel excitement!

002. Meeting Juice & Tig from Sons Of Anarchy
Omg. This day.
Tig was my favorite character from the show so meeting him was pretty amazing.

003. Buying a brand new car
Everytime we needed to get a new car, we always ended up buying beaters for under $1000. Which meant we ended up buying cars often. Our last car was pretty much on its way out and frankly was driving us crazy so we knew we needed a new one. With a baby on the way we decided we should be a little more responsible and actually go out and purchase a brand new one. I am very happy with the one we chose!

004. Rekindling old friendships
This year I made up with 3 of my closest friends from High School. We had a falling out probably seven years ago and it felt amazing to get together a couple of times this year. I'm hoping to see them even more this year!

005. Visiting The Tangled Garden
This is a highlight because it was my most favorite place we visited this year. Its so incredibly beautiful there and i'll definitely be making lots of trips back.

006. Vacation to Prince Edward Island
Even though our trip wasn't the absolute greatest, I still really love visiting new places and being able to knock off one of the provinces on my Travel Canada list is a pretty awesome feeling!

I'm sure there were tons of other great things that happened this year but those are the six that stand out to me at the moment.

What were the highlights of your year?
